VILLAGE HALL

top

Welcome to Great Witley Village Hall. This new Hall was built in 1991 to replace the old building over the road which now houses a hydraulics company. There has been a village hall in Great Witley since 1962 when it was created for the village and neighbouring residents " with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants."

On the grass in front of the building is a structure showing Great Witley's place in history which contains a Millenium Time Capsule, put together by the village school. In the entrance hall is our Village Map, created by local artist, Diana Winsor in 2006, illustrating many aspects of our village through the eyes of its residents. There is a book Witley Worcestershire by RO Walker with full of details about the area which is available from the church.

The building consists of a large hall with a seating capacity of 120  people, a well equipped kitchen with a large range cooker, microwave oven, fridge freezer, water heater, lots of workspace for preparation and clearing, tea towels, crockery and cutlery. It is an ideal party venue. There is also a committee meeting room with furniture for small groups, toilets and entrance hall. At the rear is a patio area which can be accessed from the large hall and kitchen.

For more information and bookings phone Doreen Bass (01299 896702).

The area behind the hall is the Quarter Green with a grassed area, benches, play area and hard surface sports area which has lighting for evening use (it's free for under 16s). General enquiries about the Quarter Green can be made to Graham & Lyn Tyler 01299 896850.
Booking, key and tokens for lighting are available at the Post Office.

The gate by the building at the end of the Quarter Green takes you onto a pathway to Bowen's Field and the Stourport Road (accessing the Worcestershire Way). This path and field were made available in 2009 by the Parish Council for local residents use. Bowen's Field is still to be developed and the Parish Council is working on suggestions for this.
